The Quality & Business Excellence Team (QBE) drives continuous improvement through Microsoft processes worldwide. The team focuses on enterprise success by using proven strategy alignment methods and improvement methodologies.
The key to team and enterprise success are as follows:
Building a process infrastructure that spans the MS Business Model.
Supporting business performance enabled by a dashboard.
Developing linkages between business processes, strategy, metrics and projects.
The right Master Black Belt resource will champion Six Sigma GB, BB and MBB training, as well as other Quality offering, development and delivery for all EMEA locations (as well as other offices as required), serving our MBB and BB community across Microsoft. Working with the US and Asia trainers, the role will provide core Quality expertise and know-how for the QBE organization and the broader QBE community. The successful candidate will also play a critical leadership role on the Six Sigma Certification Board, certifying belts and driving innovation and continuous improvement.
This role will also provide mentorship to Black Belts by sharing best practices and knowledge around Six Sigma and Lean tools & methodologies, project management and team leadership, plus mentoring skills for Green Belts and their projects. The right candidate is also expected to engage senior leaders in the organization in identifying critical business needs, obtaining funding, and establishing mature process improvement portfolios. As a senior leader in the team, the candidate filling this role will also work on special assignments, like the development and delivery of new training offerings and engagements.
Work under this role is divided as follows:
-60% of the time planning and executing Quality training
-20% of the time leading Quality innovation in training and methodologies as a SME in the QBE Community
-20% of the time leading or supporting funded engagements, and mentoring BBs and GBsd
Qualifications:
10+ years of related experience
3 to 5 year experience developing and executing Six Sigma training and certification programs
Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred.
Background in IT or software development will be a plus including an understating of the software development life cycle
Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification required
Strong written/oral communication skills required along with desire to communicate with business leaders
8-10 years of relevant transactional business experience
Experience deploying Six Sigma or process improvement programs
Demonstrated ability to motivate self and others, has the ability to mentor and coach others
Conflict/Negotiation management; ability to impact and influence at a GM or VP level
Project management experience is must
Prior consulting experience - preferred
Strong process orientation skills; ability to develop enterprise-wide solutions
Good analytical skills with Minitab or equivalent software is a must
