Publishing Developer Lead

Role Purpose
Our team is small and agile, with the goal of building cutting edge entertainment experiences that are tightly integrated with the Xbox 360 and Xbox Live. In this role, you will work with high-profile entertainment partners, internal development teams, and outside firms to deliver exclusive, premium experiences that are only possible on Xbox LIVE.

Team/Department Mission
Are you passionate about creating tomorrow’s interactive, online community, gaming and entertainment experiences for the premier video game console on the market today? Would it excite you to work in multiple markets to create locally relevant experiences on a global scale? Do you enjoy building relationships with partners, and applying your technical knowledge and experience to work with them to deliver world-class experiences?

If so, the Xbox LIVE team is looking for you. We are the product development studio in London behind the announcements that Sky and Canal+ are coming to Xbox LIVE. With those partnerships, we’re bringing both on demand and live video to Xbox LIVE, including innovative ways to experience football with interactive stats and the ability to chat with your friends in a 3D stadium environment using your Xbox Avatar. Our team is focused on creating compelling products for the vibrancy of local markets, with a focus on Europe… and we’re just getting started. Over the coming years, this team will take entertainment to a new level with innovative new ways to experience your favourite activities with your friends, and will usher in a new era with the game-changing Project Natal.

Key Accountabilities
You will own the project from a technical standpoint - creating the technical design and schedule, evaluating outside development firms, driving execution of the plan and shipping the product.
You will work with counterparts in integration and operations to ensure the ongoing operation of live services both before and after launch.

Key Success Criteria
You must have a strong, relevant technical background, as you will work hands-on to innovate on our platform and to unblock development issues and keep 24x7 services running smoothly.
People management experience is required as you will be responsible for hiring a team of full time and contract employees as required by the business. Your work will not only impact millions of Xbox LIVE users, but you will gain a deep understanding of the Xbox 360 and LIVE, and gain experience working with a diverse group of partners such as the internal Xbox organisation at Microsoft, game developers, and entertainment firms.
