A leading Financial Services group is looking for a first class technologist with extensive experience in mission critical multithreaded application development in C++ and some Java. The candidate will be expected to work on a large codebase with a mix of core development and fast paced tactical changes. The environment is fast paced and the framework supports a number of agency strategies.
Skills & Experience Required:
• Extensive experience in Object Oriented multithreaded C++ on Unix/Linux (NPTL), STL, templating, BOOST, effective use of profilers, leak detectors - clean coder.
• Extensive multithreaded Java (SE) design, development and full lifecycle experience. Familiarity and use of concurrent utils in low latency, tier 1 environments.
• Scripting – Perl/Python/Ruby beneficial
• A good knowledge of networks, TCP/IP and enterprise messaging solutions. Tibco, Wombat, Triarch.
• Knowledge of Equities/Futures Trading IT including key Equities/Futures Trading platforms and global Markets.
• Good understanding of IT architecture including working with distributed multi-tier systems, databases and messaging architectures.
Desirable skills:
• Familiarity with Fidessa Open Access
• Experience in KDB+ / Q.
• FIX Protocol
• Experience working directly with Quants and Electronic/Program Traders
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships with and be able to explain complex technical terms and solutions to senior management in both the business and technology. You will be a complete finisher, adaptable and business focused and a self starter with proven ability to research and absorb fine detail. First class communication and organisational skills are a must as is being a team player and team builder. You will be expected to work under pressure and meet set targets.
