Senior Developer Lead

Role Purpose
As a lead developer, you will be responsible for making that vision a reality - by building and leading a great team, forging mutually-beneficial productive relationships with internal and external partners, and making insightful technology investments. You will have the opportunity to work at a rapid pace, shipping major new functionality. Your work will not only impact millions of Xbox LIVE users throughout Europe, but will influence and draw from the broader Xbox 360 and LIVE organisation.

If so, the Xbox Live team is looking for you. We are the product development studio in London behind the announcements that Sky and Canal+ are coming to Xbox LIVE. With those partnerships, we’re bringing both on demand and live video to Xbox LIVE, including innovative ways to experience football with interactive stats and the ability to chat with your friends in a 3D stadium environment using your Xbox Avatar. Our team is focused on creating compelling products for the local vibrancy of European markets… and we’re just getting started. Over the coming years, this team will take entertainment to a new level with innovative new ways to experience your favourite activities with your friends, and will usher in a new era with the game-changing Project Natal.

Key Success Criteria
Our team is small and agile, with the goal of building cutting edge experiences that make popular entertainment services feel differentiated and exclusive on Xbox Live.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1) Essential Experience 
  • Strong experience developing software in C/C++ 
  • Strong experience directly managing developers 
  • Demonstrated ability to cost, schedule, and execute across multiple feature teams to ship quality software solutions on time 
  • Knowledge and experience shipping products involving web services and user experience on Win32 or Xbox 360 platforms; Game development experience preferred 
  • Demonstrated ability in all aspects of hiring - writing job descriptions, attracting talent, and making great hires 
  • A track record of challenging the status quo to introduce new processes and tools that result in measurable improvements to the team’s ability to deliver software
2) Personal Attributes/Interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion about gaming and online entertainment
3) Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Masters degree preferred
