Sofware Development Engineer - Graphics

Role Purpose
Xbox LIVE Studios Soho is looking for an experienced games developer who is passionate about gaming, TV, movies and social networking - and wants to play a key role in bridging the gap between these worlds.
Ideal candidates for this position will have a strong background in games programming, with a breadth of experience in areas such as gameplay, graphics, 3D maths, content tools, networking and multiplayer. Such candidates should have a successful track record of working collaboratively with designers, animators and artists as well as other developers and QA. Experience developing on the Xbox 360 is desired but not required.

Team/Department Mission
We are the product development studio in London responsible for bringing Sky Player and Canal+ to Xbox LIVE. We are investing in brand new concepts for combining broad entertainment with gaming and signature platform experiences such as your Xbox LIVE friends, Project Natal and Avatars. We are looking for somebody creative and passionate about prototyping ideas then seeing them through into fun, great looking, high-profile shipping products. Our team is small and agile, and you will have the opportunity to work at a rapid pace, shipping major new functionality.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1) Essential Experience 
  • Strong experience of software development experience in C/C++ (Lua experience a plus) 
  • Experience shipping at least 1 console game title 
  • Applied knowledge of 3D maths 
  • Solid debugging skills and knowledge of software engineering principles
2) Personal Attributes/Interpersonal Skills 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Passion about gaming and online entertainment
3) Qualifications 
  • A bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science
