Business Unit and Department StructureGMRT AandS is a team of approx 1 dozen Program Managers and Architects based in London New York and Chicago with global responsibility for architectural coherence between each of the business lines and Enterprise Infrastructure Technology Delivery (ETandD).

Role Specific Responsibilities:
Significant architectural work is needed to continually refine the GMRT Application suite and Data assets to meet the challenges of consistent global delivery with ever lower latency throughput and to ensure that applications continue to meet increasing external regulatory requirements. In addition further work is needed to raise the capability bar on technical platform standards, faster more flexible and reliable deployment techniques as well as proven recovery/resilience patterns.
Requirements
Essential:
- Very strong development /Architecture experience in an enterprise real-time environment.
- Broad understanding of the portfolio of applications and underlying infrastructure topologies and technologies that underpin Investment Banking business lines.
- Expertise in Data Modelling, Application interfaces and multi platform technologies (.NET, J2EE and Middleware).
- Up to date with current technology industry trends and leading edge vendors.
- Previous experience in developing and delivering Trading and Data Integration solutions.
- Previous experience in developing and operating Architectural Governance processes. Secondary: (Not required but advantageous)
- Previous experience of Major RFI/RFP Projects, Application Deployment, Building Relocation Projects.
- Provision of Technical Due Diligence support to Asset Acquisition/Sales.
- Previous experience of Complex Derivatives Trade Capture, Pricing and Risk.
- Previous experience of Datacenter Platform Consolidation and Virtualisation projects

RequiredA flexible approach to solving problems and proposing solutions is needed. These can vary in scale from detailed code level component optimisation to macro strategies regarding proposed industry standards and regulatory drivers. The team is also regarded as an internal source of trusted advice across the whole Bank being able to give expert opinions and solution approaches on both external vendor relations and internal project communication issues. Given the dynamic nature of the business members are expected to work in situations which need an initial frame of reference to be defined in a pragmatic and timely manner rather than an academically correct one. The role has global responsibility and the candidate will be expected to travel.
