Technical Project Manager
The Health Solutions Group is a startup business group within Microsoft launching innovative software solutions for the healthcare industry. Technical Project Managers will play a critical role in driving successful deployments of our new enterprise healthcare products. This is not your everyday IT systems consulting and project management job. You will be responsible for developing high quality, efficient methods to deploy these solutions. You will need to think creatively about how we can accomplish these goals and then own execution from start to finish. This role is not for the faint of heart - but if you like big challenges and want to have a measurable impact on growing a new business for Microsoft then this position is for you.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Overall accountability for the success of strategic healthcare systems projects at premier institutions nationwide
Ability to drive projects to successful completion through the effective management of well-architected solutions, resources, milestone-based timelines and most importantly, an innate ability to get things done
Work with Healthcare IT users (for example, nurses, physicians, department chairs, administrators) to design solutions for the effective application of Amalga to solve information management problems within the implementation scope
Manage customer relationships and expectations at all levels of the organization, from C-level down during the implementation engagement.
Assist Customer Relationship Manager in managing customer relationships and expectations at all levels of the organization, from C-level down.
Continue to evolve the systems delivery methodology for an early version enterprise healthcare software product
Escalate customer issues when appropriate, track product feedback gathered during implementation, and champion customer needs with product team
Assist with system implementation proposals during sales cycle
Maintain technical and application-level understanding of Amalga product to enable effective solution design and project management.
Ideal candidates will have the following knowledge, qualifications and experience:
Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, startup business environment but also apply project management discipline and rigor when needed
Passion for driving improvements in the healthcare systems environment and questioning the status quo
Working knowledge of SQL database structures and queries
Experience in the field of EDI, interfaces, healthcare information systems development and clinical data management
Ability to evaluate end-user business needs and translate them into technical requirements, then develop and implement the appropriate technical solutions
Technically savvy with respect to IT systems - e.g. knowledge of 2- and 3-tier architecture, interfaces, and system configuration
Good working knowledge of systems and applications in a healthcare provider environment Demonstrated exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, dealing with all levels and functions within an organization
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
Experience managing project teams; ability to motivate to maximize teamwork and productivity
Experience delivering tough messages; effectively presenting alternative solutions
Relevant work experience, including managing strategic enterprise systems projects
Extensive travel, up to 75%; may include international
Bachelor’s Degree required
