Test Analyst – GTS

IT Investment Banking is currently looking for a Test Analyst – GTS to join the team in London

ROLE SUMMARY:
A successful candidate will be responsible for Test activities on the GTS project within the Equities Derivatives IT QA team. The overall intention is to provide quick and useful feedback to developers on the quality of the software that they have produced, and to minimise the risk of releasing defects into the production environment.

THE ROLE INVOLVES: 
  • Executing test scripts – manual and automated 
  • Researching and creating detailed test specifications that cover user requirements. 
  • Liaising with other departments, pursuing sign off on test documentation. 
  • Perform the first level of failure analysis.

Additional duties and responsibilities:
  • Involvement in a diverse range of testing activities, including unit, system, performance, regression and user acceptance.

TO QUALIFY YOU MUST POSSESS:
Essential: 
  • Degree educated in a related (IT/Science) subject matter 
  • Conversant with testing processes, specifically Black Box (System and Regression) testing. 
  • Ability to execute a manual test plan, reliably recording outcomes. 
  • Ability to perform the first level of failure analysis and to check for failures in the testing process itself. 
  • Experience in using Excel, VB, VBA or similar

 

Desirable: 
  • ISEB Software Testing Foundation certification or equivalent 
  • Experience with Mercury Quality Center 
  • Test automation experience 
  • Experience using Quick test Professional (or similar) 
  • Previous experience with Test Management Tools 
  • Test analysis experience 
  • Strong scripting or development background

Soft skills: 
  • The ability to work independently, liaising with developers and users as needed and to work to project plans and maintain detailed records for testing activities. 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment 
  • Flexible and self motivated 
  • Articulate and methodical 
  • Team player
