Work alongside Software Sales Reps (SSRs), Speciality Sales Reps (SSSRs) and Software IT Architects (SWITAs).
Present and demonstrate to both technical and business customers the full Tivoli Security portfolio vision articulating the business, technical and functional superiority of IBM's Tivoli Security Products.
Completion of the technical content of proposals, customer RFI's, ITT's, etc.
Proactive ownership of the technical elements of an active sales cycle, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction with the proposed solution. This may involve presentations, demonstrations and proofs of Technology and/or Concept of appropriate solution elements.
Guidance to customers after the sale on the installation and use of the products ensuring customer success and successful deployments.
On occasions, demonstrations and presentations at seminars and trade shows are required.

The Tivoli technical professional role requires technical depth in Tivoli products, but more importantly the individual must be able to understand and convey how Tivoli solutions can best be integrated in the broader context of the solution that IBM is bidding.
The role demands strong sales awareness and aptitude in order to contribute significantly to the business unit revenue and pipeline targets.
The ideal candidate will have;
Experience of working within a technical sales / pre-sales role.
Strong Tivoli Security technical skills (i.e. TIM, TAM, TFIM, TSIEM, zSecure, LDAP, TDI, TSPM, ISS etc.) in order to effectively validate opportunities.
Understanding/awareness of Tivoli deployment considerations for varied scenarios (e.g. Use of Tivoli in Service Support and Service Delivery and methodology used such as ITIL and Team Solution Design)
Experience/knowledge of related products (e.g. Tivoli Storage and Automation products)
Understanding/awareness how Tivoli integrates with other IBM software brands, key strategic initiatives, e.g. SOA, Green and Cloud strategies and Smarter Planet in particular.
Experience/knowledge of competitive Tivoli products.
Ability to identify new emerging opportunities that can be addressed by Tivoli Security “thought leadership” to differentiate IBM from the competition.
