WebSphere BPM Technical Sales Specialist

IT Specialists in this job role will have expertise in one or more WebSphere brand -based software product areas. Knowledge of common operating systems is required (including zOS). Typical examples of the deliverables are building proof-of-concept solutions with WebSphere's BPM software technology across multiple operating system environments to address client requirements. IT Specialists are expected to perform technical sales activities as a trusted advisor to customers and IBM sales specialists, exhibiting excellent written and oral communication skills.

The role requires highly skilled business aware insight into client issues. You will have expertise in BPM technologies such as those from IBM, Tibco, Oracle and Microsoft or perhaps from a niche BPM vendor. You may have a solid grounding in Enterprise Application Integration and standards based integration.

Working with WebSphere Dynamic Process Edition, the BPM specialist will require technical knowledge and the ability to use such capabilities as Modelling and Business Monitoring, but above all the desire to seek out ways of demonstrating and showing the capabilities to clients in their environment.

Typical activities for the BPM Specialist include;
  • BPM Workshops - Targeted at the Business and Senior Technical decision makers.
  • Client consultancy with Sales teams providing a leading role in building out client requirements and assisting with RFPs.
  • Proof of Concepts - Leading and building technical showcases of IBM Technology.

Although a deep technical understanding and ability of selected products will develop for the specialist, the BPM Specialist will work in a motivated team of Architects, Specialists and field services teams in a dynamic and demanding environment with a desire to bring value to client situations. A BPM Specialist within Technical Sales must have a passion for the products but at the same time utilise all the tools and skills available. Excellent presentation skills combined with Business awareness are essential.
