This position will be responsible for helping build an Xbox Live Software and Services team in Europe from the ground up. This position will serve as a technical Architect for the team, driving the technical setup and operational readiness of the new team and facility. Long term the position will drive technical integration engagements with partners, work directly with the Xbox Live Service team in Redmond related to integration activities, and oversee all Quality Assurance aspects of products both developed by the new Xbox Live Europe team and products and services developed by partner teams.
Objectives for the position include:
• Build and run a team of individuals with quality assurance, testing, and product/service integration expertise.
• Design and oversee the setup of the technical infrastructure for a new development studio, including the setup and management of a lab for EMEA regional specific testing as well as project integration testing.
• Interface and manage quality assurance processes and resources staffed by partners and vendors supporting the Xbox Live Europe initiative.
• Work with subsidiary resources across Europe to coordinate targeted regional/localized testing activities.
• Serve as primary liaison with the core Xbox Live Service team to develop designs, trouble shoot issues, and perform capacity and integration analysis.
• Provide representation and communication early and throughout the lifecycle of the overall Xbox product development program to ensure regional interests are factored into all aspects of product development and testing that occurs in Redmond
This position will serve as the foundational technical resource for building out an Xbox Live Development organization for Europe. This position will represent and support local market interests in the design, development and testing that occurs in Redmond as well as immediately bridging gaps (through understanding and communication) between market desires and Redmond’s platform execution.
Along with helping staff up the entire product development organization, this position will focus on the quality assurance and integration aspects of the Xbox Live Europe product development efforts. As part of building the new organization, this individual will assist in many aspects of founding this new group, including securing and setting up of a new development facility somewhere in Europe.
The Integration and Quality Assurance group this position will lead will consist of software engineering teams with both Xbox client and service expertise. They will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the Xbox Live platform specifically tailored to the European market.
Applicants for this position should have an extensive track record running small testing development teams responsible for delivering client and service technologies for online based gaming and entertainment offerings. Demonstrated leadership and communication skills including ability to manage highly technical issues are a must. This position will be permanently located in Europe, and entail regular travel back to the US as well as throughout Europe.
