What impact will you make? The Opportunity

The candidate has the opportunity to proactively provide a control and risk assurance process for IT systems within the IT Services (ITS) organisation, as part of a new IT Risk and Assurance function in ITS. This will assure the business that IT systems will remain robust and effective with strong and fit for purpose IT controls.


Role description

This is a new role to develop and lead the assurance of IT Controls across ITS. The role will be based within the ITS Risk and Control function and initially work alongside a Resilience Assurance Programme Lead to proactively shape and develop an ongoing assurance process, which the candidate will lead. It will be necessary to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders both within IT and the Security and Risk areas of the firm.

It is expected that the candidate will build a small team to support the control assurance processes once fully established and embedded the process and activity within the broader IT function.



This role can be based out of any of our UK offices, with occasional travel to London.

  • Providing IT Assurance processes around IT Controls
  • Making sure that compliance activities are scheduled and actioned across ITS.
  • Own roadmap and proactively identify and improvements in control and Assurance activities
  • Manage IT assurance work for Client questionnaires
  • Provide MI and Reporting of the effectiveness of Control activities for different stakeholders
  • Run a risk and control meeting for control owners to ensure a consistent approach
  • Provide oversight and coordination of BCM plans for IT Staff
  • Work with Risk Function to ensure that monitoring of controls is undertaken across a control landscape
  • Develop the IT processes within the risk GRC system and ensure IT adoption.



  • Prior experience within an IT control function or risk related role, within a technical or Service management role within an IT department, or of working within IT related projects
  • Good working knowledge of IT Service Management lifecycle and IT controls
  • Experience with managing Business Continuity Management requirements would be an advantage
  • A good understanding of IT frameworks including ITIL and COBIT frameworks
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Strong management, communication, technical and remote collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels
  • Ability to coordinate across teams in a large matrix-organization environment
  • Knowledge of IT security standards including ISO27001 would be an advantage
