Role description

 

Accounting & Payroll Solutions (APS) is a specialist service line providing a range of niche finance-related outsourcing solutions as a strategic business tool for clients. Our services include financial & payroll outsourcing, management reporting and producing statutory financial statements for clients.

The main purpose of the role involves providing a comprehensive payroll service to a varied client portfolio and assisting the payroll manager with the management of the payroll team.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Processing a portfolio of expatriate/local payrolls using Star Payroll Professional software
  • Review of payrolls prepared by other team members
  • Preparation of payroll journals and bespoke pension reports using excel
  • Dealing with payroll queries raised by internal and external client contacts and initiating the appropriate action to ensure that queries can be resolved speedily
  • Providing technical assistance and mentoring to junior members of the payroll team
  • Dealing with year-end routines including P11Ds
  • Setting up of payrolls for new clients, including transition from previous provider and dealing with HMRC and third party correspondence including PAYE registration
  • Attending client meetings with both existing and prospective clients
  • Providing assistance with responses to requests for proposals for prospective clients
  • Full portfolio management, including billing
  • To have a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm’s commitment to creating a more inclusive culture

 

Requirements

 

The successful candidate should have the following attributes/experience:

 

Essential:

  • Excellent local payroll technical skills
  • CIPP qualified or working towards qualification
  • Previous experience of working in a supervisory role within a payroll team
  • Excellent IT skills; excel skills intermediate as a minimum
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A commitment to customer service
  • A flexible attitude to work
  • Ability to work under pressure, either standalone or part of a team

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a payroll bureau or similar environment
  • Recent experience of using Star Payroll Professional Software
  • Working knowledge of expatriate and modified payrolls
  • Knowledge of Crystal report writing
