Come join and be part of an international team which supports our Swiss, Dutch, Indian and UK practices. You will be responsible for the test effort on a variety of IT driven projects.

 

This role is about inspiring a group of Test Leads/Analysts and ensuring that the high standards our practitioners deserve are met. You will be in a leading role within the team, driving the Testing Strategy within the team, selling the work that we do and promoting our success stories.

 

Role description

You will be a crucial member of the ITS Test Team, supporting the delivery of all test activities executed by the team. The role will involve overseeing the technical direction of the test team (i.e. toolsets, performance & automation direction); maintaining toolsets & accounts; ensuring test data sets and environments meet our standards, supporting adherence to our test framework and processes.

 

This role will also be required to establish rapport and work closely with the ITS Operational Team members.

 

Location

The role can be located out of either our London or Milton Keynes offices.

Responsibilities

  • Test technology strategy and technical implementation: 90%
  •  
  • Overseeing test toolset direction
  • Supporting the maintenance of our Test Policies, frameworks and processes
  • Ensuring test toolsets are maintained i.e. the team are trained & fully understand the functionality; licenses managed, managing upgrades
  • Oversee and maintain test data sets and ensuring that these are scrambled appropriately, access is managed, maintained within Test Standards
  • Support the establishment of Test Environment Standards and support adherence to these working closely with all teams that manage environments
  • Manage test accounts and devices
  • Ensure that the team is kept appraised of future trends and directions and that these are trialed and being evaluated by the team
  • Support the establishment of Non-Functional Test Strategy in performance and automation and alignment against this
  • Support the QA of test activities being completed within the Test Team and ensure adherence to our team test framework
  • Lead the continual improvement work stream within the Test Team; continuously looking for ways to improve the effectiveness of testing and QA as a capability
  • Train up the wider ITS Team members of testing processes and toolsets to ensure no single points
  • Working as part of a larger test team which spans geographical locations
  • Adherence to the overarching Test team strategy, process & test methodologies
  • Continual improvement & innovation: 10%
  • Assisting with the integration of new and 3rd party test staff to ensure they adhere to Deloitte testing standard.
  • Reviewing and continually improving test scenarios
  • Supporting the development of the test team by leading an internal focus area. This may be along the lines of: running & maintaining internal lessons learnt or risk discussions; evaluating future test trends and presenting to the team; identifying and owning continual improvement opportunities within the team; testing and trialing new test toolsets

 

Requirements

  • Highly organised: Ability to manage pieces of work concurrently is a must. Ability to keep track on several spreadsheets, well organised Outlook structure and excellent file keeping
  • Ability to understand strategic and bigger picture to ensure day to day solutions fit within this
  • Leadership, advises & influences: Ability to lead and provide direction to  analyst resources as required
  • Communication skills: Communicate professionally and effectively - written, verbal and listening.  Strong documentation skills
  • Team working: Values team successes.  Committed to meeting team goals and deadlines
  • Relationship management: Able to build good relationships with suppliers, peers and senior staff
  • Problem solving: Good logical problem solving skills are essential
  • Work Ethic: Self-motivated. Able to work independently and is proactive / keen for learning and to take on new work
  • Strong understanding of automation and performance testing including use of tools such as HP QTP, Selenium, eggplant, LoadRunner, JMeter, NeoLoad
  • Experience using Test Management toolsets: specifically HP Quality Centre & Jira/Test Rail
  • Solid, demonstrated technical skills in at least one programming language
  • Technical software development experience with at least one platform (e.g. a database, application server, rules engine, mobile or javascript framework)
  • Awareness of different dimensions of software architecture and how they inter-relate, such as development, execution and operations architectures
  • A good understanding of current technology and architecture trends
  • An understanding of the concept of non-functional requirements (utilities) and can relate these to architecture components
  • A curiosity about technology and about how things work
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting environments and/or solutions
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a test position
  • ISTQB Foundation (or equivalent) certification level is a must; ITIL and/or project qualifications a bonus
