Role description

As a Transaction Monitoring Specialist you will work on a wide range of Financial Crime projects, helping our clients to use analytics and technology to meet their obligations under national and international regulations.  You will keep abreast of current industry best practice and will use your hands on experience of performing data analysis and configuring specialist vendor software to accelerate the work of our wider forensic teams and provide in depth insight to our clients.
You can expect to work on challenging, client-facing projects and be actively involved in growing our business from day one.  The nature of our work often takes us overseas, so the desire to travel is a must.

The role will be based in London or St Albans, however travel will be required for client based projects. We work across various industries – our clients are varied, and vary in location.


Core hours are 35 per week. This is a permanent role. As a Senior Associate / Assistant Manager you will have responsibility for:
  • Working with clients and other project stakeholders to understand their requirements
  • Delivering analytical work, either individually or leading a small team of junior colleagues
  • Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of your work by performing tests and preparing quality control documentation
  • Using your experience to identify and propose new solutions to client problems and assist with developing them
  • Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution



We need bright people with a passion for both technology and helping our clients find solutions to their problems.  You will be confident independently querying, analysing and interpreting data and will be able to demonstrate the desire to understand business problems and evaluate the results of your work in a business context.
You will be educated to degree level (or have equivalent experience) and have proven quantitative, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.  You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
Experience in a number of the following areas is essential:
  • Transaction Monitoring and Financial Crime domain expertise, most likely acquired in a Compliance, Business or IT function
  • Knowledge of one of more market leading rules engine based solutions for Financial Crime compliance
    (e.g. Actimize, Norcom, Mantas, BAe NetReveal, SAS)
  • Compliance experience as a practitioner and/or Financial Crime compliance qualifications
    (e.g. ICA, ACAMS or equivalent)
  • Experience delivering work on complex projects in a client-facing role
  • Understanding of the financial services industry within a retail, corporate or investment banking context
