Salary Frequency

The Home Office is one of the UK’s most complex and data-rich organisations with significant public interestin its success. Operating in an acute and constantly changing political landscape, our mission is to keep Britain’s streets safe and its borders secure. In doing so, the Home Office is fast becoming one of the UK’s most sophisticated users of technology, preserving people’s freedoms and protecting citizens from terrorism through operational excellence, systems resilience, agility and our targeted use of customer insight. Business transformation and innovation are becoming part of our cultural DNA as we reset our approach to technology and exceptional new people are required to help execute our ambitious plans.

The Programme Director will lead delivery of the Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) programme, a major programme that under the leadership of the Director of Crime, Policing & Fire Group IT will deliver the next generation of national systems to support modern policing across the UK. The largest of these systems are the Police National Computer (PNC) and the Police National Database (PND). There are, in addition, many other systems for functions ranging from number plate capture and collision recording to the register of violent and sex offenders. Emphasis in the LEDS programme will be on replacing high-cost, data rich national systems with more agile products and services that will support more complex policing. The Programme Director will assume overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the programme through its design, build and deployment phases.
