Senior Systems Engineer / 3rd Line Support

Senior Systems Engineer (Windows, Server, Active Directory, VMWare, SAN, PowerShell) required to join a global infrastructure team responsible for managing and supporting a large and complex environment comprising of more than 19 global data centres, 12,000+ servers, 50+ petabytes of data and multiple large scale business critical applications. The ideal candidate will have strong 3rd line server and storage experience and will have worked in similar large and complex environments. You will be expected to participate in a broad range of duties including OS deployment, performance tuning, monitoring, configuration management, security hardening, automation using scripts, clustering and hardware support. Experience with working on complex multi data centre migrations and server consolidation projects is essential, as well as, being able to build and support environments that have very high levels of availability coupled with incredibly demanding performance expectations. Excellent oral and written communication skills essential in this role. Key skills required include: •MCSE and/or VCP Certification •5+ years of enterprise Windows server 2008/2012 administration •5+ years of experience in Active Directory and general domain service administration and design •5+ years supporting enterprise VMWare virtualization technologies •Excellent knowledge of network topologies, Microsoft clustering and NAS/SAN environments with enterprise storage systems •Strong attention to detail and accuracy •Outstanding customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication This position will require occasional travel to support other European data centres and field offices. Candidate must also be willing to participate in an on-call rota to provide emergency off‐hours support (including weekends) for high impacting customer issues.
