Overview

This is primarily a back-end Java development role. However, the successful candidate will be working in a multidisciplinary team and may therefore from time to time contribute to the web UI infrastructure to be developed.

This role will involve working as a member of a small team in a collaborative, model-driven, iterative development environment using leading-edge development techniques and processes.

Responsibilities

The job holder will be expected to perform the following:-

  • Responsible for the design, implementation, testing and engineering documentation for new innovative BPM products and features targeted at many different markets including Financial Services, Government, Pharmaceuticals and Telecommunications.
  • This role will, from time to time, involve the technical leadership of one or more junior engineers.
  • The role may, on occasion, require you to travel across the UK, Europe and rest of the world.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • A Bachelors, Masters, PhD or HND in subjects such as computer science, software engineering, IT or related subjects
  • Software analysis, development and design skills
  • Proven experience of the full software product life-cycle
  • Strong OOD skills preferably in conjunction with a recognised development methodology
  • Programming - JAVA, Javascript, JSON
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Fluency in business English (written and spoken)
  • RDBMS – e.g. Oracle or SQL Server
  • ORM Frameworks e.g. Hibernate
  • Spring

  • Proven commercial project experience, preferable in a relevant business vertical domain
  • UML
  • Understanding of BPM products and industry
  • Knowledge of Windows and UNIX operating systems.
