Mentoring is something we get asked about a lot at womenintechnology which is great as we believe every woman should have a mentor throughout her career. Unfortunately we don't offer a mentoring matching service ourselves but we can recommend the resources and organisations listed below:

MentorSet
MentorSET is a successful mentoring scheme to help women working in SET (Science, Engineering and Technology). They provide independent mentors who understand the challenges faced and who can provide support and advice. They have created more than 320 mentoring pairs spread across the UK and encompassing many different careers.

** MentorSET is currently looking for IT mentors. Becoming a mentor is a great way to improve your managerial skills, gain contacts and obtain a different perspective on the IT industry. You will also have great satisfaction knowing that you have helped someone else. To find out more please see the MentorSET website www.mentorset.org.uk or contact info@mentorset.org.uk **

The Visable Women Campaign - Mentorship Programme
The VW Campaign aims to prepare you to successfully enter the labour market as more than employees but inspirational leaders. They are offering an exclusive group of dynamic individuals the valuable opportunity to gain mentorship from outstanding professionals in the technology industry.

A mentor will share their knowledge with you and possibly help you avoid some of the mistakes they made earlier in their career.  They can take you under their wing and provide advice to help you move your career in the right direction. There may also be a possibility of work-experience opportunities within their place of work.

If you are interested in either having a mentor or being a mentor, please click here for more information.
