Technology Woman Award

2011 marks the Network of Aspiring Women Awards (NAWA) third year and this year is a special one as they have introduced a new category. This year for the first time the 'Technology Woman' category has been added to the awards line up and womenintechnology.co.uk are sponsoring the award!

Set up by Jo Cameron of 'BBC's The Apprentice' fame, the National ‘Network of Aspiring Women’ Awards have been created to celebrate the achievements of women throughout the UK. It’s about inspiring women to achieve at the levels they desire in business and in corporate life. The Awards recognise those women on the move, those who mobilise others and those who create change.

When are the awards taking place?

The awards lunch is taking place on Friday 30th September in Birmingham at Villa Park where 400 women will be celebrating the achievements of women from all over the UK. Three ticket packages are available at £117, £67 and £37 for no-frills and we have negotiated a 10% discount for Women in Technology - please quote 'WOMENIN' when booking. Click here to book.

How do I nominate someone?

Nominating is easy. All you need to do is provide 350 words in support of your application. The nomination form can be found here. Closing date for nominations is Monday 1st August.

The 'Technology Woman' category  is open to any women working in IT / computing / the high tech industry. The category is deliberately broad to allow both those who are running their own business and those who are employed in a corporate setting to apply. Nominees can be just a few years into their career, have been in business for ten years or be working in middle level management.

As a winner, you'll receive three hours of mentoring from one of NAWA's esteemed judges; press support; a free VIP ticket to the awards lunch as well as the kudos of winning, the associated heightened profile and lots of other goodies.

Last year’s overall winner, Wendy Buckley of Carbon Footprint, raves about the benefits that winning an award has given her. It has boosted her and her team's confidence and doubled their turnover so please consider nominating yourself, friends and colleagues for the 'Technology Woman' category.
