Bodyflight Storm become British national skydiving champions

28/01/2008 All-female team Bodyflight Storm have beaten the current world champions to become the British national skydiving winners.

Competing at this year's British National Formation Skydiving Championships in Lincolnshire, the team secured the gold medal ahead of ten other teams, earning them the right to represent the UK at the next skydiving world championships.

Commenting on their achievement, team member Hannah Betts said: "It's great to be able to compete alongside the men as well as the women and even greater to beat them.

"We really hope it encourages more women to go and have a go at what is seen as a male-dominated, daredevil sport."

In preparation for the competition, the women gave up their jobs last May in order to train full time and have made just under 700 skydives since.

Bodyflight Storm formed in early 2007 and are now looking to partner with a major sponsor.
