IT recruitment 'recovering'

27/04/2009 IT recruitment 'recovering'More than four in ten hiring managers (43 per cent) are looking to recruit people to do technology jobs, the results of a new survey suggest.

The poll, conducted by the certification body for information security professionals, (ISC)2, found that 52 per cent of organisations would not be making any cuts to IT staff for the rest of the year.

Major areas of recruitment identified in the study were access control systems and methodology, information risk management, security management practices and operations security.

John Colley, managing director of (ISC)2 Europe, said: "While we are being affected, generally information security is a profession that is weathering the recession well as companies continue to recognise that security competency is both a business imperative and a means to achieving cost-cutting operational changes."

(ISC)2 has been recognised globally for certifying information security professionals. The body has offices across the world and has certified more than 60,000 professionals in 130 countries.
