Women in business predict more growth
19/11/2008
Female company owners are predicting greater business growth in the next five years than their male counterparts, a survey has found.
New research from
Everywoman
and Natwest has revealed that 88 per cent of women are forecasting business growth between now and 2013, while just 74 per cent of men are doing the same.
Women are also ensuring they have firm strategies for their companies, with 55 per cent of females working to a business plan, 21 per cent higher than males.
Karen Gill, co-founder and director of Everywoman, said: "The fact that female-owned businesses are reporting a greater desire for growth is testament to the progress we have made as a sector in such a short space of time.
"In this current economic climate it is imperative these business owners have access to the advice and information necessary to maximise their business skills and achieve this growth."
A specialised
Women in Business Service
is currently being run by Natwest to provide assistance for females in the sector.
