Graduates Consultant Opportunities, London

Fish out of water?

Do you want to work for a company that appreciates your individuality and is interested in your opinion from day one? Are you seeking a company that values social impact engagements? Or perhaps you are motivated by international travel and the chance to kick start your career with a six-week programme in India? At ThoughtWorks we embrace diversity and doing things differently; as a result we attract some of the most talented and passionate individuals in the IT industry.

We believe in working with the latest technologies and agile methods to solve real problems and provide innovative software solutions for clients such as E4, Guardian, Trainline.com and UNICEF. Today the trio of Java, .NET, and Ruby comprise the bulk of our application development, but we continue to explore new options to help deal with the ever-growing challenges of the future.

ThoughtWorks started in the US over 17 years ago, and in 2001 opened our London operation. Today, we're a global company with almost 2000 people throughout the America's, Europe, Australia, China and India and we're continuing to grow at a rapid pace.

We relish the chance to engage our strengths to accomplish our goals, whether that be coming up with creative and innovative solutions to our clients problems or encouraging organisational improvements.

Are you interested in experiencing India?

We're going to fly our successful applicants to our office in Bangalore for a six week program to give you all the skills you need. You'll learn all about ThoughtWorks, meet ThoughtWorkers from around the world and develop your existing knowledge. After that it's back to London and onto a project to put what you've learned into action.

But what will I do?

Whilst you might feel you know what a software developer, quality analyst or business analyst does, the role at ThoughtWorks is quite different to other organisations. Thanks to the use of Agile methodologies and the fact that we work as consultants, your role will involve a lot of interaction with clients and ThoughtWorkers. You'll be heavily involved in understanding our client's requirements, and be responsible for coming up with creative and innovative solutions to complex problems. A lot of our work involves holding workshops to elicit requirements and showcasing to clients so you won't always be stuck behind a desk.

We're looking for character and energy

We're seeking bright, creative and open-minded individuals who are looking for a varied and challenging career, and you don't have to be an expert in software development just yet.
Your degree should have given you a passion for creative problem solving, and the ability and desire to work in a dynamic and interactive team environment.
We are looking for at least a Bachelors Degree with a scientific/numerate/IT related degree subject, ideally with a programming component. Some level of Java or .net programming is essential for a developer role and highly desirable for an analyst role.
