“Leading the Way” – A Cutting Edge Leadership Development Programme
A programme for women who want to make a difference
“As the person grows, the leader grows. The missing element in most leadership development programmes is growing the person to grow the leader”
Kevin Cashman, Leadership from The Inside Out
WHO IS IT FOR?
If you want to have a more powerful, positive and lasting impact within your organisation, profession, family, community, this is for you. We have condensed some of the best attributes from our leadership development programmes to create an impactful three-day fast track programme exclusively for womenintechnology members.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
This really is a unique chance to experience evolutionary leadership development with a difference. The workshops are highly experiential and explorative creating deep learning and sustainable change through doing. And for the theorists and reflectors, there will be some recommended reading and suggested work in between workshops to embed the learning even further. Every detail has been intentionally designed to create a lasting, transformative impact.
WHAT DO I GET?
As “Leading the Way” leaders, you will leave with renewed energy and confidence, fresh new perspectives, greater self awareness and awareness of impact on others and systems. You will be equipped with a range of state-of-the- art leadership skills based on the forefront of leadership research. “Leading the Way” not only incorporates the popular theory of Emotional Intelligence (me) but also moves it further onto the next levels of Social Intelligence (you) and Systems Intelligence (we) work. What is particularly unique about “Leading the Way” is that we will be bringing all three intelligence attributes together into one programme.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES FROM THE PROGRAMME
You will be able to:
Recognise your personal leadership strengths and develop capacity to be effective in a wide range of circumstances
Identify and breakthrough self perceived limits thereby moving into an arena of extraordinary performance
Act from conscious choice and intention instead of reacting from triggered states
Combine depth with lightness and see that complex things can be easy
Merge high professionalism with real and authentic humaneness
Become aware of your impact on others, learn to create your desired impact and begin to take responsibility for that impact in all aspects of your life
Learn how to manage conflict and use it positively
Discover the concept of deep democracy and how to integrate diversity and difference into teams and groups.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
“Leading the Way” is a series of three one-day workshops taking place on Saturdays spread over a three month period. Each workshop builds on the learning of the previous one*. We structure the course over three months to allow for the intensive learning to bed in before moving onto the next.
* This is a complete programme and each workshop builds on the previous one. In order to attend workshops two and three, you will ideally have attended the previous ones. For this reason we will need to give priority places to those who are booking all three workshops in advance.
Places are limited to 16 places only and only the first 16 confirmed and paid for bookings will be accepted – so book now to avoid disappointment!

WORKSHOP 1 : Me – Creating from Self
Date: Saturday 4th September 2010
Time: 9.30am – 4.30pm
The concept of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) - our ability to recognise, identify, appropriately read and express emotions - is proven to be a critical component to effective personal and organisational relationships.
In this workshop we will be working with the EQ concepts to identify those essential qualities that make you unique. Helping leaders to connect with their essence, their character is central to effective executive development. We will be looking at how social pressure and self-imposed limits can shape how we behave and make us lose touch with our innate strengths, gifts, and even purpose. You will be challenged to unapologetically 'take your lid off,' break free from self-limiting beliefs and patterns and recognise your personal leadership strengths and values. You will develop the capacity to be effective in a wide-range of circumstances and environments.
WORKSHOP 2: You- Creating from Other
Date: Saturday 16th October 2010
Time: 9.30am – 4.30pm
Building on the work of Emotional Intelligence (EQ), this workshop now takes us into the next level of social intelligence (SI) to include awareness not only of ourselves but also of others and our impact on others.
In this workshop you will become more aware of the different ways people learn and adapt. Fostering the ability to perceive and build on strengths inherent in others, you will be able to create powerful alliances and achieve mutual goals. You discover how to work collaboratively, with new levels of trust and personal responsibility. This workshop will help you develop strategies to make conscious choices and take full responsibility for your impact on others in all areas of your life.
WORKSHOP 3: We – Creating from Everything
Date: Saturday 20th November 2010
Time: 9.30am – 4.30pm
Here we build even further on the previous workshop levels of Emotional intelligence (EQ) and Social Intelligence (SI) to bring to life the groundbreaking work of Relationship Systems Intelligence (RSI).
Systems theory views the individual as a system living within larger systems such as organizations and work relationships. No person is an island, we are all part of complex systems such as our business partnerships, global communities and also our families. A “system” is composed of many parts yet the sum is always greater than those parts.
In this workshop you will be learning the tools and techniques of systems work to enable you widen your view to see the bigger picture of all opportunities and interactions available within the system at work – and a benefit you could also use in your personal lives too with friendships and families. You will learn how to navigate conflicts and difference to build sustainable relationships as opposed to just negotiating for gain. You will also learn how to facilitate diversity and enable deep democracy to live in harmony within organization and relationship structures. The skills you gain here will develop your relationship agility and empower you to lead groups and teams more effectively and consciously.
