WCIT Membership Categories
Back to main WCIT page
There are four basic categories of people from whom we are particularly seeking members:
Current senior members of the industry
This group comprises current chief executives and other directors from the supply industry; founders of significant IT companies who are still active in their companies; CIOs and equivalents from user organisations; and key senior, active professionals in allied areas.
‘Senators’ of the industry
These are people who may have a portfolio career in the IT world. They may now be retired, or semi-retired, or have moved to a self-employed consultancy status. They will have achieved stature in the industry and have a significant network of contacts.
Accomplished practitioners
This group is at the heart of the development and application of IT. They are accomplished developers, consultants and senior practitioners in allied fields. They are the specialists with deep knowledge and experience.
Young high achievers
All across our industry there are many relatively young people who have, or are achieving, great things but do not necessarily fit into any of the above groups. These people often represent the future of the industry and should be encouraged to join.
The Company is a multi-ethnic, multi religious organisation of mixed gender, with the majority of its membership being based in the United Kingdom. We do have a growing number of members from continental European countries, the Asian sub continent and significantly the US, despite them being less able to make full use of the facilities and activities of the company.
